I've had a tough time of late. Some physical issues and losing my job. And I know I'm not alone. Just putting it out there. We are all in this together. I have come across the bike I plan to keep. It is a 1947 Monark Silver King. It has the hexagonal aluminum frame. It is in pretty nice...
I am trying to fine some information on a late 40's Monark Silver King hexagonal aluminum frame bike. I bought it at the local bike shop. The older gentleman consigned his Dads stuff to be sold. I saw this being put out for sale. I had to have it! I will get some pictures up soon. I am...
Found this beast in a basement clean out of a townhouse. I know nothing about it. I love to root through basements , attics and barns. It's how I unwind and find bikes. I love old bicycles!
It's got really odd construction. It looks like it should be a tank bike. But it has a third crossbeam...
Another forgotten old bike. Found it in New Jersey. I never knew that there was a bike company in Haverford PA. I have lived in the area all of my life. I have neither nor heard of them. I would love to figure out what the vin numbers mean. She's in pretty good shape for being over 100 years...
I just found a really nice original Schwinn New World. The serial number is X02406. I cannot find this number referenced anywhere. Maybe pictures will help.
I lucked into this cool old bike. It's been hidden away in an old bicycle shop in Chicago for the last 40 years. I really don't know too much about it. I just thought it was really smokin. Now I own it and would like to know what I have.
I will supply pics. What is it missing? Is it...
Just got this stuff from a farm auction. Been looking for a whizzer set up for my 49 Shelby. I have no idea what motor this is. Can't read much off of the case. It has good compression. That I know. But I have no idea what parts are what and where they belong.
Things I know
Gas tank...
Bought this at a thrift shop. Someone made it into a sort of mountain bike. It has no head badge. The serial number is all I see. 26 inch wheels. Trying to pin down year, make and model. Thanks everyone.
I picked up this bike at a yard sale yesterday. The man was older and had it hung up on the garage wall. He had it for 50+ years. His age is 81. It's in pretty good shape. He thought it was a Glenfield..
There is no legible head badge . What is it?
I found a beat up old Shelby bicycle. Probably out of the 50s. I don't recall seeing this hub and brake setup before. Is it original to the Shelby? And what is it ?
I picked up this rusty schwinn behind an old gas station in New Jersey. The numbers on the rear say it's a 1956 schwinn. What are the other numbers on the bottom of the crank housing? The chain guard says tornado. And the fenders match. I'll let the pictures show the rest. It's been this way...
I have a 40's Shelby bicycle. It has some very different fender struts. I am asking for some info about them. They are not curved with outside of the fender line. Rather they protrude one inch straight out from the fender. Then at a 90 degree angle they go to the hub. Thanks
Anyone out there who can tell me about some very unique fender struts on my 40's Shelby bicycle? They square out from under the fender. It's not a curve. It comes straight out from the fender. Then bends at a 90 degree down to the hub. It definitely will make an awesome whizzer project. Thanks
