Today's find: Serial # L042292 indicates 11/29/1960, Panther 3. To me it looks correct and complete minus the tank. I am no expert, so any input appreciated. A bit weathered. I wondered if there are lenses available for those lights if it turns out that is all they need? They are plastic lights...
I do see a C just right of the 53. It may have been too close to the edge for the W? Does that 53 stand for the year of manufacture? On 2nd look , I do the W inside the C. Thanks
Today's find: 24" Hawthorne Montgomery Ward Boys Bike serial number "G75318 53". It looked terrible when I got it but a couple hours of elbow grease, some wd40, oil and air and I was riding around the yard. Lol. I'm guessing at 1953 because of the 53 stamped on the bottom and don't know if it...
Recent acquisition: This Schwinn Black Phantom serial # R03009. When checking the serial number on line, I received the message that Schwinn had used this serial number twice. Once in April of 1955 and once in November of 1956. I thought someone might know if one build date or the other was for...

Fresh out of the barn. WARDS HAWTHORNE girls bike. Numbers on bottom of crank housing seem to indicate 1941. I think it says 14-EM or EH. Serial looks like 116818. I think it would be Snyder built. I have no idea the model, maybe someone will recognize. Thanks
Picked up an old Hercules Tourist bike. I think 1960 or older because of Birmingham tag. Serial number on rear dropout is 1367JF. Not having much luck determining year of manufacture. Can anyone pinpoint the year? Thanks
Thank you very much for such a quick and detailed response. Unfortunately, I don't find any of those dates on this bike. (pictures). I'll just have to go with 70's? at this point. Good eye on the tubes being damaged. Someone must have hit something pretty hard. Both actually have a small...
Picked up this old Peugeot at a sale. Any idea on model or age? Serial number by back wheel 857499. I read that 7 digits were used in the 70's and 8 in the 80's. May 6 was in the 60's? Thanks
Thanks so much for your help. There appears to be an S next to that E, any idea what that means? I had seen a chart that showed MOD as meaning Murray built 1939. I figured MOD was short for model
