I was working on a Sturmey Archer drum brake front hub and discovered a series of numbers on the back of the brake cable arm. The number is 3840149. The hub itself has the numbers 10 79 stamped on it. My working theory is that the 79 is year of manufacture. Could the 10 be the month? Am I...

I suppose the mods will do what the mods must do. I, however, have no desire to force the bidder to buy something from that he does not want to buy, nor do I have any desire to see him sanctioned for this unfortunate contretemps.

BTW, the way this played out argues against the 3 hour rule. His offer was posted 12:05 am (not sure if this is Pacific or Central time). I was sleeping at the time and remained asleep past what would have been the 3 hour window. In my opinion, 3 hours is way too short.

Not sure if this is NOS, but it is pretty clean. Circa 1950's. Cable clamp bolt not original.

Obviously used Cyclo Standard derailleur. Disraeli Gears web site seems to indicate this may be from early 30's, but note the number 47 stamped on the arm - not sure what this signifies. I do not have the shift lever that goes with this.

This bottom bracket axle (cottered) currently resides, but I suspect is not native to, a Schwinn Continental from somewhere around 1944-46. Can anyone tell me what these markings signify? I'm particularly interested in the figure on the left. Thanks. Pat Burns

Doing a little research on my own (a dangerous proposition), I see that BSA was taken over by Raleigh in 1957. Would Atom have continued to stamp BSA on their hubs after that? Pat

Benelux Super right hand shift lever. $100.00. Not positive it is NOS, but it sure looks it.
