Show me your NON-BICYCLE bicycle parts.

Thanks for the tip. The copper is on the rear wheel and I don't anticipate putting a lot of miles on this bike.

Copper plumbing clamp as a fender mount

Show me your NON-BICYCLE bicycle parts.

Interesting thread here. For your consideration, 1/4" copper tubing for brake cable casing and HVAC vent for taillight housing.

Colton bike - what have I got here?

I sort of thought it might be the trike. I wonder why they modified it.

Colton bike - what have I got here?

I'm thinking of giving this bike as a gift, but thought I should find out more about it first. The head badge says it is a Colson, but I cannot find anything like it on the inter tube. It seems to have been the subject of a frame repair. Any info on background, year of manufacture, value...

Serial (?) number on Sturmey Archer brake cable arm

I was working on a Sturmey Archer drum brake front hub and discovered a series of numbers on the back of the brake cable arm. The number is 3840149. The hub itself has the numbers 10 79 stamped on it. My working theory is that the 79 is year of manufacture. Could the 10 be the month? Am I...

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

I get it. Thanks for the explanation.

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

I suppose the mods will do what the mods must do. I, however, have no desire to force the bidder to buy something from that he does not want to buy, nor do I have any desire to see him sanctioned for this unfortunate contretemps.

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

Just got back from a ride - quite brisk. Just 25 degrees out. I've decided to withdraw this thread. Please don't take this as me skulking off in a snit or as some weird attempt at a snub. I truly appreciate your candor (and, by the way, the incredible depth of knowledge available on CABE)...

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

Don't get me wrong, I agree with that interpretation. I'm new to this and sought some clarity as to the bidder's status prior to posting. Again, live and learn.

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

BTW, the way this played out argues against the 3 hour rule. His offer was posted 12:05 am (not sure if this is Pacific or Central time). I was sleeping at the time and remained asleep past what would have been the 3 hour window. In my opinion, 3 hours is way too short.

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

Thanks for your input. I don't recall seeing anywhere in the rules that acceptance must be public. Perhaps I overlooked that. In any event, I pm'd him because it was unclear to me what his intent was. I pm'd him well within the 24 hour window to let him know that I was accepting his $251...

Rules for Deal Or No Deal Auctions

Yes, what does happen when a buyer doesn't follow through on an accepted bid? Is that supposed to be reported to someone?
  14. P

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

I appreciate your offer, but decline the $175. Thanks
  15. P

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

I appreciate your offer but, at $75 it is still no deal. Not sure what regular spoke holes measure, but these are 3.1 mm.

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

This has been a confusing experience. I don't know what BFGforme meant by saying he was done (done bidding or withdrawing prior bids?) and I don't know what to do with the info coasterbrakejunkie1969 just sent me. What I really want to know his does anyone want to buy this hub and how much are...
  17. P

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

I tried personal messaging yesterday to let BFGforme know I accepted his offer. I have not heard back. Are you out? Notagamerguy, are you in at $250?
  18. P

    Schwinn rear drum brake hub

    No deal, but close

This hub came off a Schwinn Town and Country tandem circa 1946-50.

    Thanks! I appreciate the info.

    Cyclo Standard derailleur

Yes. Will have to charge more for shipping if it costs more.
  22. P

    GB Altenburger derailleur

Not sure if this is NOS, but it is pretty clean. Circa 1950's. Cable clamp bolt not original.
  23. P

    Cyclo Standard derailleur

Obviously used Cyclo Standard derailleur. Disraeli Gears web site seems to indicate this may be from early 30's, but note the number 47 stamped on the arm - not sure what this signifies. I do not have the shift lever that goes with this.

    Withdrawn

Not bidding - sorry. But am wondering how you determine age of the hub. Just curious. Pat Burns

Bottom bracket axle marks - what is this?

Any idea regarding year of manufacture?
  26. P

Bottom bracket axle marks - what is this?

This bottom bracket axle (cottered) currently resides, but I suspect is not native to, a Schwinn Continental from somewhere around 1944-46. Can anyone tell me what these markings signify? I'm particularly interested in the figure on the left. Thanks. Pat Burns

    Atom Rear drum brake hub

Used. Seems to be in good shape. Sadly, I do not have the adjusting barrel.

    Atom Rear drum brake hub

I tried looking up info on this hub before I posted it for sale and found very little on the history of Atom. If you find more info, please let me know. Pat

    Atom Rear drum brake hub

Doing a little research on my own (a dangerous proposition), I see that BSA was taken over by Raleigh in 1957. Would Atom have continued to stamp BSA on their hubs after that? Pat
  32. P

    Atom Rear drum brake hub

Sorry. I do not know the answer. If anyone else out there can help with this, the info would be appreciated. Pat

    Various 3 speed parts

Variety of 3 speed hub parts. Mostly Sturmey Archer, but some Shimano.
  36. P

What kind of campagnolo bottom bracket is this?

Any idea how old? Is the 70 on the axle a date stamp?
  37. P

What kind of campagnolo bottom bracket is this?

Not really sure what this is. Clearly a campagnolo bottom bracket set, but I've never seen one with the flanges on the axle. What is it? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Vintage Lightweight Parts (1940s Schwinn & Torrington; 1960s Miller)

Yes it is. I actually just need the non-chainring arm, but would be willing to buy the set if the price is right.
