What have i bought ? All i really know is its a 24" Silver King. Guessing about 1939. Ill need a few parts..noticed the truss rod bracket at top is cracked and fenders possibly incorrect..i did a quick look over for serial numbers but didn't see any...thanx for the help, advise and criticism lol

The 1939 DX is close enough to call finished..there are a few things that aren't "correct" but since im not selling it and my friends don't know the difference im content with the results. Besides, it looks better than when i bought it...enjoy.

I have drop center rims. Im trying to install a high flange forebrake hub. Also want to retain the 4 cross pattern to match rear wheel. Im told original 10 5/8" spokes will work. Any thoughts ? Or instruction ? Thank you

When it comes to Schwinns, straight bar or cantilever how can you tell what it is unless it's all original with patina ? Serial #s will give you year but will it also give model ? When you buy a frame (straight bar) w/out a tank how do you know what tank you need ? Seems a frame can be built up...
