I too have a Triumph very similar to yours except it is a girls version. Cleaned it up and put a Cyclemaster power wheel on it. Took some time to find the few missing Cyclemaster parts but now all is working just fine. Living near Philadelphia and will be glad to correspond. Still trying to copy...
JonW:
Will be glad to copy the pages and mail to you. Also found 2 photos from last fall at the Antique Motorcycle Meet in Maryland which I can send.
OK to phone 215 840 8189 or email [email protected]
Congratulations on your find! Just my kind of project. Will be anxious to see it as you progress with the restoration. In case you are interested, there are 4 pages on the BSA in The Book of the Cyclemotor. Let me know of you do not have it and I can copy you. I may also have some photos of...
Hello Tom:
Where did you get the operation manual for the Travis? I sure would like to get one as I am having some difficulties with my carburetor.
Please help.
Thank you,
Fred
Tom:
I took my engine apart, no problem. Cleaned everything and installed new bearing, seal & gaskets, but had no spark. Found a new coil and was able to make it fit. Started easily. would be pleased to talk with you about it whenever you want. 215-840-8189. Might you be able to somehow scan...
Do you still have that Cyclemaster engine?
I might be interested in buying it. Sorry I have no bicycle parts for trade. O K to call me 215 840 8189. (Philadelphia area)
Thank you,
Fred
Looks as though you have a nice setup. I have been using Autolite copper core plug 414 and it seems to work well. I have also been using a slightly hotter Autolite #4093 in my other small 2 stroke engines.
My vin plate is #10500 ant the crankcase is stamped 90561y501. Would he happy to discuss...
Mine seems to be running well now. Several miles around the neighborhood this morning. On my gps I saw a very comfortable, steady 15+ mph and if I opened it up, as high as 21 mph. More than fast enough on a squirrelly old English bike.
I doubt it will go that fast (except downhill). Should be able to check next week. Literature I have suggests cruising speed of 18 - 20 mph. Also shows 20 mph @ 4000 rpm.
I just got a tachometer and will test the rpm also.
I should be able to report top speed on mine in a week or so. Just got a cell phone holder and can check by GPS speed. Can tell you it does go faster than I am comfortable with in my neighborhood and faster than I could ever pedal it!
I have one, "rebuilt" it and mounted on a Western Flyer. Runs well. Where are you located? I may be able to advise on alternate throttle/ compression release control. Having trouble attaching photos !
I made a cover using an aluminum saucepan. Fits almost perfectly and looks good.
Would like to communicate with you further about the Travis. Forward your email address and I will send photos. I am unable to attach photos to this reply, but can easily attach photos to emails.
Yes, it is mounted on a Western Union girls bike. Would like to communicate with you. [email protected]
Having difficulty in attaching pictures to this reply, but can easily attach to emails.
I too would like to find one for my Travis. In the meantime I am using a modern throttle lever sold for other types of machines and using thin bicycle gear change cable and a spring at the carb to help open the throttle.
Pulling the lever back opens the compression release, pushing it forward...
I have ridden it in the neighborhood, but only a few miles at a time while sorting it out. Hope to ride it farther when it gets warm.
Did you buy the one you found? If not, can you put me on to the person selling it?

Re: Your Indian / Cyclemaster
Did you buy it ? I have a Cyclemaster which I installed on a Triumph bicycle, and would be pleased to correspond with you. (see posting elsewhere)
I acquired a Travis 1.5 HP recently, mostly there, and have some of the same questions as you have.
I completely disassembled it and replaced the bearings, gaskets and magneto coil. It started and runs on the bench and I am now mounting it on an old Western Flyer bike. Would be pleased to...
Mark Allard:
Saw your posting from 2016 in CABE regarding your Travis Bike Motor and wondering if you learned more about it and if still have it. I recently acquired one and am interested in corresponding with someone who has one. Any help you can offer will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Fred...
