The cam is what the other 45’s I’ve seen look like. My thoughts are that maybe frame was made late 45 and assembled early 46? Purely speculation. 3 things stand out to me as 1945….the tube upper bracket, dog leg crank and kick stand cam
What’s the pin that holds the kick stand in look like? Let’s see what the kick stand can end too please!? Dog leg crank as well as the tapered kick stand are early too.
Hello Caber’s!
It’s that time of year again! Come join us for the saint Patrick’s day parade and festival! We had a great turnout last year and are expecting the same this year! Would love to see some more Caber’s there this year!
Saturday the 16th in Dublin California!
Porkchop’s patina potion is half white vinegar, half hydrogen peroxide and a pinch of salt mixed in a spray bottle. It’ll rust bare metal right before your eyes! You can have 50 years of rust in a matter of a few days!

I had to go back and check that photo and it’s the correct vin. I took a bunch of pictures of it the first day I bought it home and it’s in that group. Think it’s just a terrible photo cause the camera focused on my face instead of the frame.
Brought this 49 back to life last year and found this decal on it! The first bike you pictured in this thread screams 1948 to me! Those non knurled s2’s are the first year and only year without the knurled rim. Also has a small badge and a sliding rail seat. Nice bike!
Cool badge Ozzie! First time I’ve seen a bfg badge like that! Pretty cool! Did a nice clunker build for my son with the 56 middleweight I found. Can’t wait to see what you do with yours!
For me personally….i think there’s room for everyone’s take on this. Weather you ride em or hide em it’s all about the people and the connections you have. From your family and friends to the perfect stranger. Most people have a connection to a bicycle. Balance in this hobby is what keeps it all...
Good morning Caber’s!
