i'm pondering this bike on ebay, but the rear dropouts have me confused... https://www.ebay.com/itm/315132934599?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&customid=link&campid=5335809022&toolid=20001&mkevt=1 . all the images i've seen online seem to show track style rear dropouts. and there are...
late 60 or early 70's Torpado Luxe all chrome frame, Falk straight gauge tubing, rare Agrati "windowed" fancy lugwork, reproduction Italia leather saddle hand made by Rudi at RMH Saddles on a Brooks Pro frame with big oversized copper rivets (the saddle pics don't do it justice... reddish brown...
the frame has been lightly sanded from 200 grit through 1200 to remove 89 years of corrosion. my teen grand daughter and i built this up for the newport daffodil run a few years ago, thus the 26 inch fat tire wheels and schwalbe "billy bonkers" tires with silver surfer comic book clippings...
not looking for anything specific... this is for a franken-build so not settled on anything until i see it if that makes any sense. nothing all rusted too pricey. for now, it just needs to fit in a silver king fork steerer tube... whatcha got?
frame is perfect, no cracks dents, brooks c-17 saddle mounted on extra long quill seat post.
bottom bracket adapter for square taper and single ring 3 arm T/A cranks (i think.. i don't remember and bike is in storage). rear hub is rechromed and rebuilt atom drum brake and 5 speed...
turn of the century (1898-1905) american made bicycle with ornate rococo lugwork, which was a trademark Rambler detail. just professionally powder coated blood red with hand applied gold lug lining by Mark rainy at Groody Bros in Kansas. the gold frame scrollie stuff and brand labels are decals...
116BCD 3 bolt.. New and
unused but looks like some very light corrosion on the chainring on the back side.. . in original wrapping. $65 shipped US only
anyone know if a sturmey K 3 speed quadrant type shifter will work with a sturmey AWC hub? looking to mount a shifter on the top tube and i like the look of those old shifters
looking to buy or source a wrap around headtube badge for me build. not going to be an accurate build, so the exact correct badge is not important. either one of these will be fine
got this frame from glenn rhein for a project to share with my grand daughter. she has a 1935 single speed that we worked on first over the winter and now mine is nearly ready so we can ride together! she put silver surfer comic cut outs on her rims. i made mine into a 5 speed... old knees!
so i have an atom rear drum brake/5 speed hub, and i need a brake lever suggestion. i tried a tektro lever that i had in the parts bin, but i run out of lever pull travel distance (hits the handlebar) before the brake is fully engaged. do i need a long pull lever for this brake? any suggestions...
ISO a long ish quill/wedge seat post for my silver king. looks like 13/16 or 21mm OD. (the battery died on my micrometer....) i have one the measures 7 1/2 inches but could use something a few inches longer.
my 15 yr old granddaughter who lives with us has expressed an interest in building up a silver king so we can share a project and ride together around town with the silver king i'm working on. she doesn't like the ladies version, so men's only. there must be a gas leak in this house because she...
for a 1950 Claud Bulter build. anyone got one laying around that you're not really every going to get around to using and it's just laying there gathering dust and making you feel guilty that you ever bought it in the first place?
i saw this bike on the bay a month ago, but the asking price was a bit steep, so decided to make my own. i have the exact same tank, stem, bars, and a set of wheels and a saddle.. just need to find a frame to match the lines of this tank. i'm a newbie to this genre of bike, and recently...
Just acquired a late 40's or early 50's roadmaster frame and i'd like to add a tank, but being a newbie to this kind of bike, i have no idea where to begin. i'm sure that tanks aren't universal, and tanks for the same brand and model must differ from year to year. in examining images of bikes...
i just acquired a montgomery wards silver king (but it won't be delivered for a week or so..), and in making some plans for this bike i was thinking about installing a sachs 2 speed IGH, so wondering if anyone knows the OLD specs for the silver king?
