I picked up a 1958 Schwinn tornado and would like to put a tank on it but my question is will a Ballooner tank fit on a middlewieght frame? With the cost of tanks I'd like to know before I buy. Thanks for any info.

I have what seems to be a brass headbadge. I thought all the ovals were aluminum. Its way heavier than the rest of my badges. If it is brass why would they paint it white and silver? Looking for any information anyone has, thanks in advance

So I have pre 65 razor back stem that should clean up nicely if I can fix the clamp bolt. I was thinking I can drill it and Chase the original threads, does anyone know what thread pitch is original?

So I've been working on my 1962 and the fork tube is very corroded whats the best way to clean it out? I've been using this but think there's a better way

I thought they just had the large oval and the small oval did they have a smaller one than the 60's style?

Is this a Schwinn DX frame? I'm new to the ballooner bikes. The head badge hole spacing and the chain stays set up make me wonder. The serial number is K54929 the lookup comes back as a 53 for what's that worth

I use 12 point sockets all the time at work for square head bolts. I'm not sure of the size but it might worth a try

I believe it is I know the chain guard is but it didn't fit either
