Okay thanks. I don’t do any fake rivets or screws. I did locate a ladies donor bike for a couple hundred with nice fenders. Definitely considering this bike. I’ll make a decision very soon.
I used a round punch that fit somewhat snug and it came apart nicely. I had already pb blasted the rusty parts a few days ago.
Thanks for the help from everyone.
I attached photos as removed for future reference if it helps someone else. The 96 side is the drive side cup. They are slightly...
I should have thought that hole was for something. It’s not like you would pour oil in there. Thanks for the info. I think it is a left hand thread. I’ll try it out tonight.
I heard you mike have parts for the bike. Mine has one wood rim with a non coaster brake hub. The front hub is an old new...
Hello
I’m probably doing this wrong but I have an 1895 Columbia bike and would like to remove the crank for cleaning and regressing. I removed the cups but it must be a two part crank since the bearing cup does not fit over the pedal end of the crank arm. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a green phantom plus a parts bike. The rack I have is painted over the green and I'm not sure how good the paint will come off without trashing the original paint underneath.
Homemade switch panel from long ago. Not working right now. Had two D cell batteries with a wire soldered to the batteries. Luckily the batteries did not leak. Speedometer missing the plastic lens.
I have what I believe is a 46-47 roadmaster. I am questioning the chrome rims. Serial number is a J and it does not have drop stand ears. Headbadge is brass. Grips have one green and one red reflector. ND rear hub. Any thoughts?
Looking for info on the chain guard on this Shelby. It looks wrong to me. Serial number is hard to read the letter but it is either a v or m793254.
Front light on fender is made in Japan and not correct either. Rear tire is an old centipede grip tire.
Gloss on the paint is fluid film and will...
Try colonial brassy on the fenders then wizards polish. the brassy removes the brown rust color which is iron going to the surface from the evaporust. The wizards is great for polishing. Ceramic wax after.
How lucky is that. Been looking for a bike like that. Found a couple at Mike K swap but missing the saddle. Figured that would be $250 so I passed on it then had regrets.
Anyone know why a 55ish Columbia bike would have a B serial number. Bike is mint and older guy said he bought it new.
has the plaid type saddle with grey frame which I had on a ladies bike.
Thanks
I work in my basement so any of those stinky chemicals will have my wife yelling “it stinks down there”
I soak in finish line citrus degreaser (tight fitting cover” for a few days. Then in a heated ultrasonic tank with Evaporust for 3 minute intervals. Scrub with a brass brush tooth brush size...
