A picture speaks a thousand words Lets see your vintage mountainbikes.

Definitely not an easy find! I got real lucky and a friend helped out. That Bonty fork looks perfectly at home on your build, so clean and classy that bike is! And what a special one being state TIG Romax… thanks for posting it, love seeing Canadian gems like that!

Incredible! Tig Romax, very cool! Gorgeous bike and build, love it! Just finished myself a Romax, a bit of a splatter mishmash…

I love it! Beauty bike, I’m guessing that’s a Climbmax? Is that for a curved Bontrager with U-brake? Would have guessed curved Gatorblade but the crown doesn’t look right?

    1986 Rocky Mountain Tantalus

When I received it the rear canti posts had been removed and chain stay u-brake posts had been brazed on… the original paint was missing from the two areas, and the downtube decal was all bubbled from the heat of adding the housing stop for the u-brake. The housing stop/cable guides on the top...

    1986 Rocky Mountain Tantalus

I found this beauty in fairly rough shape, over the duration of having a couple rounds of repairs and subsequent repaint done I was able to gather most of what I needed to do a near catalogue build and basically get it to near exactly how I want it. Geometry based on the Ritchey Timberwolf, the...

    1984 Tom Ritchey Timberwolf

Some great info & reading in this thread! I’m finishing up 1B314, from what I could deduce around 85/86 Timberwolf? It’s full of braze ons and have a nice double quill brazed bullmoose.

Perhaps as the successor company to Queen City Cycle, the catalogues are accounting for those years of operations as well? That could potentially help answer Locomotion’s question as well… if apparently Day operated 1898-1903 and put out a 15th Annual catalogue in 1900, perhaps QueenCity...

Awesome fork! Second generation of Brodie’s forks! First had a curved blade. I’ve got the right Brodie frame for it if you still have it & any interest in trading or selling! What Vernon shop do you work in? Grew up out there… could use a dip in Kal right about now!

Day Manufacturing Co. Lake View, NY

I’ve been pretty surprised by the amount of interest this bike has generated in terms of people wanting to purchase it. Unfortunately everyone is asking me to name a price basically and I am just as clueless to value as I was to it’s history yesterday morning! I love know knowing more about the...

BlueStreak, thank you very much for that wealth of information! That was a very interesting read, beyond what I expected. Explains the very brief history... even shorter then I thought beginning in 1898 not 1895... This thing definitely shows it’s age a bit so maybe not worth the entire original...

Day Manufacturing Co. Lake View, NY

Thanks for sharing that ad Jesse! That’s super cool to see and the plain black colour lends me then to believe this must be the original paint as I wasn’t certain! Reasonably similar looking bikes too I suppose with the exception of the handlebars. also any idea anyone as to the vintage of the...

Day Manufacturing Co. Lake View, NY

Any chance anyone has any information on this old bike? I’ve had it a little over a decade when I acquired it from a friend but know absolutely nothing about it. It shows it age but nothing is seized, paint is tough but no dents etc... I really am limited in knowledge when it comes to bikes...
