I am happy to have brought this old girl home yesterday. It’s been repainted so will take some gentle removal to see the serial number. I am wondering(hoping) that the frame is the same pink as the rims. Anyone have good results with any one particular product or process for evenly getting down...
I just brought home the exact same bicycle. Mine has been repainted and will take some gentle removal to uncover the serial number. Pretty sure my seat is wrong as well.
Thanks for all of your replies and input! After careful inspection of the bottom side of the BB(bottom bracket?) I can see that the fuse marks(?) are mimicked, only for show. So these classic series reproductions were made in Chicago? Does the serial number provide a means to any reliable...
I’m not sure what to make of the three letters in front of the numbers on this serial number.
chicge made me on the head tube so 1970-1979(?).
Bike is a stingray apple crate with a bunch of wrong parts.
any useful input would be appreciated.
Oh yeah! I can see it peaking out in the pic. It’s all there and no significant damage? I like the rat trap(?) rack in the pic as well, and what is that funky purple seat with the rear guard? Will you ship to 99337? PayPal? Thanks!
I am looking for a well loved original equipment woven flower adorned basket and the bracket/perch with spring loaded basket locking action. my understanding is that this particular setup was only found on this one particular model from 1969-72.
thank you!
I found this at an estate sale today and it was too cool to not buy for $40. It has not a single casting mark or any identifying information except for the few characters on the carburetor. It is basically a miniature outboard motor and clearly has most(?) of the bracket to mount it to the front...
I love all the comments here guys! Thank you! So, wrong wheels, wrong seat, but the rest looks to be original. And being a #1 serial number really isn’t any more rare than any other number, but it is kinda cool. Does that add value to those in this group? How does everyone feel about the asking...
Here’s a 1954? Schwinn DX comet serial number K00001for sale on Craigslist in southeast Washington state if anyone’s interested. Not my bike.

Working on a sparkle blue 1967 Schwinn Rams Horn Fastback 5-speed. Looking for a few parts to restore a stock appearance. Schwinn or Schwinn approved is best, nos or used. I know that this is a fairly hard to find bike and parts will be as well. Could go sparkle blue or white on the seat and...
Looking for a few things for my newly acquired 1936 Schwinn X Excelsior, (possibly a “Motorbike”);
1) strut rods with neck bracket
2) chain guard
3) black long spring Deluxe Messinger seat
4) hanging tank/tool box.
5) rear stand assembly
first pic is of mine, second is of my inspiration. Thanks...
It may be. It has no markings on it that I could find. It is HEAVY Duty. I found a few pics a while ago of very similar forks on old unidentified bikes that looked to be Columbia's to me.
Both Cycles just recently assembled with quality made in USA parts and only ridden around the block.
Women’s bike is all new or new old stock Worksman Cycles and Wald Cyle Co. parts.
Mens bike; forks, stem, crank and sprocket are quality vintage(Columbia), all other parts are new or new old...
This is the only picture I have and no information other than it has been hanging there far at least 20 years. pre-war(?) because of the rear facing drop outs and skip tooth. A “Triple Tandem” possibly used for “Velodrome” racing popular in the 1920’s and 1930’s.
Do you have any references? Because according to the site I pasted above; “The ’40-1 “All American” prewar model did not have drop stand ‘ears’ but other frame indicators will identify this frame as prewar”
Wow there was a thick layer of several layers of paint to get through to even see there was anything there! Lol. Again, looking for a consensus or verifiable reference to date this bike, but here’s what I found at this site-...
Hey all! Looking for some help more specifically identifying this old bike I just picked up. On my own I can determine it is pre 1941(or there about), made by Cleveland Welding Company, and is a road master badged bike. The purple paint has clearly been sloppily brushed on over only the original...
I have two of these available;
proudly made in the USA! Wald Cycle company 20” chrome front fenders with mounting struts and fork tab. These are unused, been sitting on the shelf for decades, no rust or damage, may have light shelf scuffs. Cost of shipping, dependent on destination, to...
LOTS of new old stock chrome REAR(I only have REAR fenders, no fronts) fenders for fat tire(up to 2 1/8”) bikes. Fenders are a full 3” wide inside! These have been sitting on the self for who knows how many decades and do have some light shelf scuffing but present very nicely. No serious...
