It was great meeting you guys as well. I appreciate all the info you guys provided. If I get it up and running I'll update you guys. I'm really curious about the model of the bike now and will have to remove some paint on the bottom bracket to see what's stamped there. Maybe that will help...
Hopefully I'll see a couple of you guys at the swap meet today. I'd like to say something like "I'll be the guy in the fedora wearing a red carnation on my lapel" but if you see a guy with his wife looking lost holding a bike wheel that's me.
I haven't found a serial number there's so much paint on there. I make out an "M" or "W" but that's it. I'm not sure what a flat fender brace is, sorry. The only color I see under the blue is red. Not sure if it's original.

Not that you asked but this all started because my wife picked up a bike for me from this same...

Thanks for the info all. I will post some pics of the bike tomorrow when the light is better. It's a bit sad even for me not being into vintage bikes. Someone had painted the entire thing blue (original color appeared to be red). The paint sealed everything together. Things they thought...
Thanks for the replies. I've attached some photos so you can see what I'm dealing with. I can't find a stamp but at some point someone painted this entire bike so it could be under there. I'll keep looking.
Hi bike guys,
My wife had given to her a bike from a friends junk pile as she had indicated it looked like a fun cruiser to ride around the neighborhood. I am trying to make it ridable and I don't know a thing about vintage bikes (mountain bikes I can do). It is a New Departure Model D but I...
