    Happy Saturday!!!!

    JC Higgins Bicentennial

I'm one of those types where if something is there when I get it, I don't give it a thought, but if I think I caused it, or know I did, my first thought is: "How can I fix it?" Reassuring that the foil didn't cause it and may of been underneath all that surface rust. I think I can live with...

    JC Higgins Bicentennial

So, since the weather was a little nicer I decided lubrication on the chain and to give her another cleaning. Used some tin foil and Coke for the handlebars, worked great, then I used the same on the chain sprocket as you can see from the original photo there was quite a bit of surface rust that...

$20 and delivered to my door. JC Higgins

Cool. It has the original bike license sticker from the City of Minneapolis stating expires July of 1964, so that gave me an idea!

    JC Higgins Bicentennial

Got home this evening and gave her a quick wash and as I was drying her off it started getting cold enough where the water was freezing on a little bit. I rode it up to the grocery store a few blocks up and let it sit inside for a few minutes and dried it off properly. First night out after a...

Put 11.6 miles on her today! No snow December!

Pulled the trigger on a Flying Pigeon!

Nice. I paid an amount well below that so I figure with the Brooks saddle being worth maybe 75-100 on a good day, I'm into the bike for a hundred bucks. I just didn't have any idea of what their values were in general except going off new prices on the website. I feel it was money well spent on...

Pulled the trigger on a Flying Pigeon!

When I tried to use the fact they're not known for their stellar quality (per the Google research by large) as leverage to try to see if there may be any wiggle room, he stated he made it reliable with modern parts. Such as what was stated in the bikes listing shown above. It cruised to and...

Pulled the trigger on a Flying Pigeon!

Just gauging how much I overpaid or didn't, ha. It's just cool to me and for the history. Flying Pigeon. The name alone is awesome plus I love how it looks. Not concerned about reselling at the moment, but with the Brooks saddle, I'm thinking I did okay. Definitely one of those 'just have...

Pulled the trigger on a Flying Pigeon!

Poll: What do you think would be a fair price for this Flying Pigeon (with 'upgrades' to make more reliable) with the Brooks Saddle as shown? Thanks!

Pulled the trigger on a Flying Pigeon!

    Very cool!!! China Post! 📝

Pulled the trigger on a Flying Pigeon!

Something about her, just spoke to me. Even after doing the research of it being the world's most mass produced bike and not known exactly for the it's reliability after speaking to the seller he informed me that he modified it to where he made it a reliable bicycle. Whether or not that's...

    New $19 find...

Nice! Just today on my lunch break I found another.. a vintage Schwinn Traveler with a cool speedometer and with the Chrome fenders that have the fin at the top? Best way to describe it versus smooth, has about 40 or 50 years of dirt caked on it but the store said $15, I said 'it looks kinda...

    New $19 find...

New find AMF Roadmaster Sky Rider...

I think she's gorgeous plus I got her in the city of New Hope when they called the city a village, I usually remove the stickers but for now I think I'm going to keep it on because it's so unique! Alas, here are photos! PS this is how she arrived straight out of the car, haven't even cleaned yet!
  29. TimothyNelson

    New arrival....

So, I noticed in my evening after dark ride that it seems there's a noise from the front wheel tire at first I thought it could be the fender but I don't think so after looking into it. When I get off the bike and not moving it seems like there is some play in the wheel like you can move it...

    New arrival....

There's a shot of how I bought it and here's a shot of a quick before it gets dark fast detail so I can ride. More to come!
  31. TimothyNelson

    $16 bike day...

It actually came with the curved bars on it but with those it was totally unrideable for my height so I put the bars on it that you see, then I cut some of the black foam that was wrapped all around the old handlebars and made the ones you see. Now, it's actually rideable for someone that's 5'11!
  32. TimothyNelson

    $16 bike day...

😅😅 worst case scenario, I donate and the seat and pedals cost me $16. Probably still leaving ahead!
  33. TimothyNelson

    Free bikes day...

So the other day I put a fresh paint chip on the tour de Swiss while tightening the seat, and appears that it has been touched up in the past not sure if fingernail polish was used or actual automotive, bike paint etc. Just wondering if anybody out there may know or can tell from the photos...

    Acquired another one...

Asking price $33 by the time I got there they said the vendor lived in another state and didn't want to have to move stuff back so they were taking offers. I offered $20 and walked out the door. What do we think about her? 😃
