I have pulled sissybars off a lot of 20" Schwinn bikes and never had one that much shorter. Maybe a Junior as Nick said but Stingray and Fastback are the same. Either someone cut it, or it is one from the lowrider parts vendors.
It goes without saying that the torch idea is the worst one I...
If that was the whole bike it was a good price.
I have seen the rear drums at $250 and selling fairly quickly on eBay.
I hate the price of some of these things as well, but that's what the collectinvestors do to everything they touch man.
Don't know how I missed where he said Red Band.
Thanks man. I should've seen that.
It would be a cool wheel for a larger front sprocket on a chopper style bike.
There was one from the early years as well I remember from the Paramount line.
I do not understand the aversion to doing chrome frames later on but I do recall reading in one of my Schwin.n books that they said this about chroming frames.
I never understood the logic either.
If I get time later...
Look for a serial number, on the bottom bracket, rear dropouts or head tube. Of you find it I can help with frame ID.
Murray, Huffy, AMF all built bikes for others and each other. Serial number will sort it out.
The stripes on the frame remind me of AMF. The fork is Raleigh lightweight I have...
What color bike do you have, or seat color are you looking for?
I always preferred metal pans, but the plastic works if you are not too big and don't ride a long time on them.
I may be able to help if you need a metal seat.
I have a couple here including a recovered sprung Solo Polo.

Yes, probably April or May 1970 went to the head tube.
Some on here claim to know what day it happened but suffice to say Feb 1970 is safe on the dropout still.
It is not just the Owners site. It belongs to every CABE member as well and we are all responsible for what we see and know is wrong.
And the owner did make the rule. Too many people ignore it and I spoke up so I am the bad guy?
No wonder our country is so screwed up!
This was meant to clarify a rule in the Classifieds Rules section. This is not my rule to question.
If no offers mark withdrawn and all is well.
Thanks, Rob
It is OUR site too!
I will police the Damme thing whenever I feel like it!
Anybody with a problem on it probably has some skin in the game being complained about. Also I can keep that in mind next time someone had one of these basically mind your own business posts.
A couple photos of my black 1970 Westpoint badged AMF Flying Wedge.
It was a rolling frame with junk wheels when I got it. The PO had sold off the 5 speed parts and then (surprise) wasn't having much luck selling the frame. It had a cut off set of Rams Horns handlebars identical to the ones it...
I have a black semi custom Westpoint badged Flying Wedge 5 speed I am working on in my spare time. Which means I am not working on it.
But someday....
I may post a couple photos if thats ok later.
Photos of Hawg Wylde
I made braided steel brake and shift cables, a wheelie bar with red and blue LED wheels, a large bag to simulate a drag chute.
Front and rear lights are from a Delta flashlight and battery case from another light I had at home.
Linked front and rear...
Hey man, I just asked why it was linked to my post as a quote.
Maybe there was something I didn't know there.
No need to blast at me, if others did worse I understand.

Would be interested in some dealer/factory info on the Krome Krate.
Schwinn policy then was not to chrome frames, they believed it weakened the welds.
Did they vary from their own policy?
Would be interesting to show true examples.
I am going out on a limb here, trying to magically calm troubled waters.
The pics were pulled by the OP due to a disagreement over the existence of Disc Brake Grey Ghosts since they were 1971 only.
Disc Brake Krates did not start until the 1972 model year .
Could both sides of the aisle be...
I have debated several times with members here on that. I keep getting hit with the old "If the frame date is December it wasn't built until probably February/March and would not have been painted until right before it was built" line.
I never believed that, at least on Stingrays but I always...
December 1971, by prevailing logic this bike would be a 1972 build and would not exist.
Can you explain for the members who follow prevailing logic how this bike could exist?
(I am not one of those members).
Technically Pea Picker was 1969-1972. Any Nov-Dec 1968 bikes were 1969 model year.
No verifiable Schwinn documentation to prove any Coal (Koal) or Grape Krates exist, only stories.
I think it will just work looking at it.
Yes I am planning a Krate with painted accessory style fenders with stripes and a few non stock pieces to get the purists fired up.
