I found a Cruiser Deluxe 7 with a leftover Phantom frame, I have been wanting one ever since I knew they existed. I had a few reproduction Phantom parts I have been collecting for just such a project, so I did some wrenching today, and got them switched over. I am still waiting for a seat, and...
Thanks for all the responses to my post ! It's not necessarily that I am looking to purchase a new cruiser, I was just curious what was still being produced. I have several old Schwinns, some Columbias, a Monark, RoadMaster, an Elgin, some various Reproductions, and a bunch of Felt and...
I put them on the Portland Oregon craigslist for $450 each, they are advertised with several other bikes. The only reason I'm selling them is because I already have one I ride the same color !!!
If the Ladies Roadmaster is a re-paint, they started with a mint bike, and did an amazing job. Everything is super crisp.
I have two of those 2001 era Schwinn Cruiser Deluxe 7's, the same exact one as posted above brand new in boxes I just posted on Craigslist!!!
I love that picture of the truck full of bikes ! 73-79 Ford Pickups are cool, I had a '77 F-100 for my first pickup.
I got the decals and grips in the mail today for my '95 Red Phantom, so I got it put together. It's amazing how close the Rustolium Red spray paint I had in my shop already was...
I've got 5 so far: 1949 Black restored, 1952 Black restored, 1955 Black original paint, 1952 Green partial re-paint, and a 1995 Red centennial. All of my original ones have some re-production parts on them.
I just lucked into these at a yard sale a friend told me about, I ended up buying 5 bikes ! my favorite of the bunch is a 95 reproduction Phantom in Red, that was missing the seat and tank, but I have robbed a seat off another bike, and just painted a tank to match, just waiting on some decals...
Lots of really cool shops on here ! I have been enjoying others, so I guess I will share my own. I have been in the old car hobby for years, so it's more geared towards cars, but lately I have been hard-core into bikes !
I'm 100% sure that the high point of reproductions and other "cruiser" style bikes from lets say 1985 to the early 2000's was to market to a generation who remembered them from their youth, much like all the BMX style "Cruisers" now.
I was born in 1980, but I have always liked the look of the...
Holy cow, did this turn into a 4 page..... argument ?!!!!!
So, as the guy who posted the original thread, I appreciate all the responses, and the.....entertainment? I guess?
The BMX stuff is neat, but not what I am into. I guess I was more curious about 1940's-1950's style bikes and the...
So, Besides Worksman, do any current businesses still build a good quality vintage styled balloon tire-ed cruiser bike? I see the walmart level stuff, and I know the used market it usually flooded with 10-30 year old bikes from back when Electra, Felt, Schwinn, Columbia, etc. were building neat...
Three aftermarket fender headlights made by Darwin Products of Chicago ill. They are 8 1/4" long. I have no idea if they work, and I'm not buying C or D batteries to find out !! As-Is :) ! Seat NOT included, it just snuck into the picture......
You are bidding on all 3
I just sold my nice green one, and parted out a red ladies version. They are usually good bikes for the money they bring. The Nexus 4 speeds I have had are geared for high top speed !!!
I am looking for a well built hot rod, or maybe stock 1932 1933 or 1934 Ford: Coupe, Vicky, Tudor sedan, Cabriolet, or maybe Roadster also:
-1962 Impala Convertible
-1956 or 57 Chevrolet hard top or convertible
-1966 or 67 Chevelle or Malibu hard top or convertible
-Pre-war big convertible...
Nevermind on the pedal question, I figured it out. The key to success was dish soap and a 6" bench vice.....
I do still need a tank though, and probably some red grips ! And eventually a seat to replace the one I robbed off another bike !
Hi, I just bought an incomplete but never assembled Red 1995 Phantom reproduction at a yard sale, it was missing the tank and seat, but otherwise complete, and in pretty decent shape. The pedals came wrapped up in packaging material, and look to be never mounted on the bike. they had the...
The price was reasonable, and I didn't have a bike with a curved seat-post tube, so that is initially why I went to look. The "Pilot" bike just had a neat head badge ! I havent been able to find any pictures of them online anywhere, just some other head badges. It's cool to know it's an AMF...
I bought 3 bikes, and also some fender lights and an extra seat today, hopefully you guys will be able to tell me what I have ! The black & red Columbia looks to have a newer fork (with brakes) and it has been rattle can "restored" at some time, also a modern light. Did Columbias this ere even...
So, I'm pretty new to the classic bike hobby, and my main interest is Balloon tire-ed tank bikes. It seems like almost all manufactures seemed to stick to red/black/green/ blue or a combo of those and white two tone, at least in the ones I have seen. There was such a color spectrum of...
The red tires look rad !
My old Electra was just called a "classic" I think ? That's all it says on it. It has a springer, rack, Nexus 7 speed, and a steel frame that is pretty similar to a Schwinn cantilever, but a couple inches longer maybe? It's way different than the newer "flat foot"...
Awesome, I love the Black Phantoms ! I will find one in my price range some day.....
I credit those with getting me into classic bikes, a good friend and his wife have a pair and when we met back in about 2001 they would ride them by my house all the time, which led to me buying my Electra...
Awesome, thanks for posting that. I wonder if they came in any other colors? I will keep my eyes open for one of those, but I'm getting a glut of Black & red bikes !!! :)
I just did some looking around and found out Columbia did a blue (like the beautiful one crankman3 posted above) and a maroon and cream version in the mid-late 90's, I had no idea ! I have seen several of the green '85 built "five star" bikes like the one I posted but never those other two. I...
I like the 80's / 90's / 2000's reproductions of classic bikes...... and I don't think I'm alone !! I would love to see what other color combo's the Schwinn Cruiser Deluxe and Cruiser Super Sevens, Phantoms, etc. came in !! Don't necessarily have to be exact copies of a correct vintage bike...
