Looking to date this Schwinn Traveler, as we all know the dates can be difficult in this era because it can be several different choices. This bike has a 61 dated Sturmey, peaked fender, winged head badge and rounded forks with serial # B69986 which could make it a 1952 - 1953 & 1957 as the date...
We are in the same group sitting around all wondering what it is. We both posted not knowing each other did also, if we could get a answer that is better in the long run, many minds are better than one. Thanks for all the answers so far.

Working on a Bare Metal bike and have had many suggestions from wax, oil, clear or matte spray paint. I sprayed a couple pieces clear but I dont like the look, would rather have a natural look with protecting as best as I could. I would appreciate pinions on what others have done, that would be...
Old Continentals, what do I do with them. They have some valuable parts but want to clean and fix them up but torn on how. In my little brain I think should I keep them separate or combine them and make 1 cool one and which way do you go they are both so different and condition varies. Any...
Thanks for all that info. Its not a rare find I just have not come across that color, you know you see the green , yellow and brown but not orange. I'll clean it up and get it road worthy and enjoy it.
Happy Trails.

Just wanted to share.
Bought this 1973 Varsity Sunset Orange have not come across one in this color and with with fenders, anyone else? Guess it fenders were added by dealer and there are thousands of Varsitys made in the 70s, just kind of unusual to me. I'll clean it up and ride it, cant wait.
I have done it myself with sticker that you can get from a sign company (3M vehicle wrap) that will stretch over a metal wheel, very inexpensive. You do need to have a blank wheel and re-spoke it.
Sounds like he has it in a large box and he is being hit with an oversize box charge, maybe he can ship in 2 boxes to reduce that cost. Or hes just gouging you. Good luck.
Paramount
Thanks Matt, it is a 1968 and I will ad some pictures. I need to find the correct Brooks mattress seat for it but other than that it is complete and in great condition. Mark

Sorry for the delay. I can box it and weigh it to get an exact price but without doing that it would probably be 40 to 60 dollars what ever it would cost me. Thanks Mark
