I am still away from my workshop but I will be starting the restoration of the '02 Pierce soon and I still need the front hub!!! Can anyone help?? If I can't get one I will use the later than 1906 hub that came with the bike.
Lets work together to help with parts as we find them... I was just offered one missing mag cover, carb, tank, controls and an odd looking muffler. But he said my offer of 300USD was far away from what would get him to part with it, he was not really selling.... just fishing for a silly price I...
WANTED; BSA winged wheel, or the remains of one to rebuild. No tank or rim needed. Interested in any Winged Wheel parts to build one up.

I ended up buying it..... it was too cheap to let go. :) Apparently they are a very rare frame call the Hercules "trio-tube"
No idea what I am going to do with it!
the plot thickens..... they were made by Hercules around 1960 RIGHT when they were merged with Raleigh.... I wonder if this one was badged Raleigh at the factory?
I am also needing a rear underside bevel cover but I never really bother to look for one as I expect they are not around at any price. There is enough there to copy and fabricate
a new one from scratch.
Still no luck finding the correct from hub..... what should I do if one does not turn up in time for the restoration?? Make one? Or fit one off another bike that is close? Another Pierce hub from another year?? I have a post 1906 (?) New Departure model M with oiler that came with the...
My new tyres, new rims, new spoke nipples and a seat mount are all on their way from Mitch in Kansas who not only sold me the bike AND let me pay if off but has been a HUGE help putting all my other purchases in one box to save shipping costs to NZ on the large items. Thanks Mitch!!! :) He is...
WANTED; Correct front hub for a 1902 Pierce chainless cushion, will be replated so condition does not really matter...
Anything condition considered but it must be the correct hub for the 1902 Pierce.

Easy answer for me.... in the basement of my childhood home from the day I was born (now 52) was the remains of the 1937 CCM Flyte my great uncle bought new and my father inherited and used (and modified!) in the 1950's. I have inherited it and it now has two Flyte siblings and a couple of...
Williams crank arm from the other side of mine..... which is not true to the other side... I am yet to take it off to see what it issue is with the angle...
We had figured that the fork was a replacement so I have had a triple crown CCM Massey fork sent over from Canada for the bike.
The left crank is a replacement Williams crank arm.... that I "could" make it fit I think if an original CCM one does not turn up.
To add to the information here is a...
Wanted, CCM Massey 1923 LEFT side crank arm.... opposite to the one shown which I have. 7 inch. And a handle bar stem for the same bike...
Any condition, will be replated. CCM is marked on the crank.
Thanks

The one in Jesse's picture would be closer than what I have which is a post 1906 hub. The correct 1902 front hub for a mens chainless full suspension roadster is, I "think", this one..... which after over 6 months of looking I am thinking I might have to make one!
Rims have arrived at Mitch's house in the USA to be put in with the tyres and shipped over to NZ (when my finances recover after buying the tyres and rims!).
Where do I buy nipples for these rims these days? And was there anything special about Pierce spokes in 1902??
Still looking for the...
Happy purchase today... I got a SECOND identical Ocypus stand so i can have one at each end of the Pierce!
Wooden rims are ordered.... just spent the shipping money on the stand..... :)
Come out forward at either the angle of the top tube, OR the fork bottom, go straight forward a little, then curve down and out and around to low grips
"about" level half way down the frame head tube or a touch lower. None adjustable..... but you could raise them, but I would build them to fit...
I am still not happy with the handle bar and stem design.... today I have come up with a new idea that is currently gelling in my pea brain.
It started when I thought, "I can't see a stem I want to buy OR make..... well why not do without one" which lead to the idea of having a "stem" that...
Tryes have arrived at my man in the States house (thanks Mitch!) he is ordering my rims soon and then will send everything to NZ in one very well packed box.
So it looks like this might be my set up to get my "man in the USA" to ask Stutzman
For 1902 Pierce.
Rim size is 28" with 1-3/4" Robert Dean tubular tires
36 Spoke rear, 32 spoke front.
Bare wood finish.
Profile "standard"
Wood type "standard", ash
Unless you can think of anything else I think...
Robert Dean white smooth tyres have been ordered, replica Troxel seat has arrived and I am about to try and order Stutzman rims to be made! So parts progress is going VERY well. Still looking for the correct front hub, then I should be pretty much set for major parts.
I really don't know Jesse, I am going on the two photos above more than anything else. I have tried asking to get more pictures or information on what a 1902 Pierce front hub looked like but nothing came.
What do you think?
That would work for sure, but if you guys can swap forks and the truss fork gets used then that's even better! If the non truss fork is available after or during the swap (posted directly?) then I would be interested.
I think I have nailed down the design I want for the seat and handlebar stems..... The seat stem will start full size out of the frame then step down to 1/2 inch (like the early American bikes had) then curve forward and end up parallel to the top tube.... close to the one in the top photo.
The...
Away from the workshop again and busy planning and buying bits.... just bought a 14T skip tooth rear sprocket.... so I can now make the front even larger.... 40/14 is the current plan. 2.86 ratio..... the picture is a bike with that ratio or very close. I have not made the seat or bar stem...
What would be the best TOC valve caps??? I have heard about some that were tethered to a spoke by a little chain? What are the coolest TOC caps I could get???
