Recently found these photos of my grandfather and his bike. He was born in 1909. Any idea what kind of bike this is??? A good friend thinks Schwinn or Shelby. Love to hear what you think.
I went to a garage sale this morning and I found what appears to be a muscle bike.
It has a frame that looks familiar to me but I really don't know what it is. The front forks kind of look Huffy... Maybe???
The front wheel is a 16-in wheel The back wheel is a 20-in slick. The front fork is set...
Yes I believe that is also a fire arrow. So I need to look for the bell style and not the electric. Okay perfect thank you. I feel kind of dumb but I guess asking you guys is my best way to get answers. Thanks a lot
If I were to search for that like on eBay or something what would my search term be? Like 56 Columbia horn unit?. Like I said I'm into the stingrays and the you know '60s bikes and this is my first in-depth 50s bike. Thanks for all your help
I have a 1956 Columbia custom that I just got a couple weeks ago. I'm trying to make it mostly complete. I know that there's supposed to be a horn button or something like that in the side of the tank. But I'm unsure. I'm more of a Schwinn stingray kind of guy. If somebody can tell me what I'm...
Okay 56 thank you. That way it matches my Cameo! Lol. Yeah I'm not sure about the reversing on the front end. I know the guy said he did it so that it didn't hit the tank. It seems pretty solid and the thing rides like a champ. But I will be aware of it.
thank you
I just picked up a '50s era Columbia bicycle. It's had some custom stuff done to it and I absolutely love this thing. But I was just curious if there was any way to tell what year it was. I have not been able to locate a serial number.
Okay I've got both of the arms and part of that cable but I have nothing that connects them together. And I've never operated brakes like this I mean I was looking at newer brakes that are set up you know v brake style like this but I don't know if they would get around that great big fat tire...
I'm working on my OCC Schwinn stingray. I've got some of the brake parts for the rear but I'm not sure I have all of them. Does anybody have a picture of what the brakes are supposed to look like when they are together?
Thank you
I have a 76 bicentennial varsity 10 speed. Trying to locate decals that are the proper color. I found the word 'varsity' but have been unable to find 'Schwinn' or any other decals for restoration of this bike.
Anybody has any ideas I would love to hear them. Thank you
I've been working on selling a lot of bikes lately. I've bought partial bikes and I've worked on building them making them rideable and selling them. Well I only have one more left. It's a 1947 Cleveland welding company 20-in bike. So I thought well I've got a Schwinn frame, and 1959 panther II...
I'm trying to put a new cable in one of my fastbacks. And I have never taken apart a brake lever before. So I'm wondering what it takes to hold this piece in the lever?
Awesome that sounds incredible. Yeah I originally had planned on leaving the stingray wheels on the bike and then it just didn't look right with my other fastback. And I'd already bought tires for the stingray wheels. I ended up using the front wheel on my 3-wheeler but now I've got a perfectly...
I cleaned it up pretty good last night and put a little naval jelly inside it and got it back together I was going to take it out and test ride it today but it was monsooning so I just worked on getting the front brake and front fender put on
My '71 fastback shifts but it will not stay in the lower gears. I can pull it down into first second third fourth but the minute I let go of it it pops back up into fifth. I have not torn it apart yet, but I was wondering what to look for being as this is my first shifter of this type I've tried...
Well now that I've got my wheels on my '67 fastback, and I park it next to the 71 fastback it's pretty obvious the difference in the stingray wheels versus the fastback wheel size. So now I guess I got to look for a 5-speed rear wheel fastback.
Excellent!!! My 67 has a TPI 350 Out of an IROC Camaro. I usually haul around my OCC Schwinn to car shows. Ya I'm jammin on the Stingrays now. Had one when I was 9. Re living my childhood.
