Cabby

Look Ma, No Hands!
Here’s a beauty Super Deluxe Stingray found north of the border…L4 serial number. Purchased at Foster’s bike shop in Buffalo NY! I’m not sure if the tires are original

Very cool Nov. 1964 Super Deluxe with Overdrive hub. Neat period correct Blue Glitter tufted seat.
Tires and handle bars are not factory correct.

Do you have a clear photo of the dealer decal?

Is this your bike?
Thanks for sharing

I am going to be the second owner of this bike. The owner said “ I had the swept back cool bars, fancy grips and seat installed on the Stingray by the dealer when my Dad bought it brand new. I didn't want the blue grips just the blue seat.”

Thank you for the additional photos. Love dealer decals!
Looks like Rodger was the lucky kid riding this Blue S/D.

So this Nov. 64 is about 1-1/2 years before the release of the June 1966 new “sweeping Sting-Ray Fastback handlebars.
Maybe these were added later on the bike?

Also it looks like the grips are possibly Silver Glitter Chubby style that was first offered in 1966.
These Silver grips would typically come on a ‘66 Black Fastback from the factory.

I so appreciate the information! I only know what the original owner thinks he recalls!

Cabby,

Would you happen to have a photo of the brake arm?
Curious to see if it’s the first version of the Bendix Overdrive arm without the Model B.
Thanks.

That is the correct brake arm as it should be for the first Overdrive Blue Band hub.
Thanks!

Kills me how often the rear axle nut is installed wrong.
The shoulder goes against the flat washer, then the strut, then the serrated washer against the frame. Easy fix.
