Sorry but that is definitely a fantasy/reproduction, that sign was never originally made in that size.

Bought this from a old timer in my town that had this tacked on his garage for quite some time.
Amongst a lot of other signs that were clearly not repop.
Based on any research prior to listing heard these were mounted to actual pump or station lubester.
Seen these in Black that are sold as repop.
Pressed in brass inserts in eyelets not just manufactured Holes.
Thick visible porcelain seen at areas chipped.
Never seen a repop go to this extent.
Maybe I wrong. Im not a sign guy but know you guys are .
Always like to hear some good info and or criticism.
Please send some solid info rather than throwing it up here. Or simply pm me and I will change as I am not trying to Hose anyone if I’m wrong.
Or just pass by listing if not interested.
Thanks
Mark

My preferance of signs Definetly isn’t gas .
But not blind to a good Soda / ice cream advertising
Thanks for your feedback.

Great collection, I have numerous Ice Cream/Soda signs myself.
Standard Oil never made that style of sign for gas pumps, Pump signs are 10"+-, any 12" sign is a mass produced reproduction/fantasy sign, I say Fantasy because it is actually not a reproduction because there was never an original one made to reproduce from. I've been heavily into collecting signs since the 80's and have spent a lot of time studying reproductions.

We are just trying to help brother! Not cutting on you! Please keep in mind, fantasy pieces, and repops, are coming out of the woodwork now a days, and the newer collectors need to be warned! That is our only objective here! Also, you might be amazed at how many of both have been around for years now.
