I live for the CABE
c.1885 Elgin Watch Co. Elgin, Ill. pocket watch. This is a size 18, Grade 6/7 jewel movement in a coin silver (90% silver) swing out case featuring a rider on a high wheeler blowing a bugle. I tried to find some examples online but was unable to find any that were similar. I hesitate to use the word "rare" but I think it would be considered scarce. The case has a few small dings on the edge and the engraving is a bit worn but the image is still clear. I would call this normal wear for a 140 year old watch. The enamel dial has Roman numerals and a sub-dial below the hands that count the seconds. There's a hairline crack from the edge of the dial below the number 5 to the hands (see second pic). It is not terribly noticeable when the case is closed. The watch runs when wound but stops after about 30-40 minutes. I would suggest having it serviced or leave as is. See pics for condition. I can provide more if needed. I'm asking $425. NOW $250. which includes Priority Mail shipping and insurance. PM me if interested. Thanks !

I've seen that same image of the high wheel rider blowing the bugle but can't find where. Maybe someone else has this image of rider and bugle shown on this pocket watch back cover and could post it.
I have this exact single wrap shaped Henry (HY) KEAT & Sons No.103 S bugle known as a "Pocket Bugle" circa 1890's-1900.
The more commonly known KEATS "Buglet" with flattened oval bell end used in America is the one with multiple wraps of tubing that were imported to America. The single wrap that I have, as depicted by the image on the pocket watch, was purchased from Colin Kirsch in England and probably was a commonly used bicycle bugle in that country (Click on link attached below).
Bugles were used by a bugler within a bicycle group to muster a group of cyclists and for sounding out and directing various bicycle parade formations by different played bugle sequences. These bugles were available in different keys. (Click on link attached Wheelmen link below).
