I live for the CABE
Howdy folks-

Doing some research on another bicycle of mine. This bike appears to be an 1893? Remington Ladies' Wheel bicycle. I'm guessing it's 1893 because the two patent dates on the badge are both 1892 and the serial number is pretty low at 7112. Unfortunately, the rear wheel is missing. The front wheel is present and appears to be a Dunlop style rim but the period advertisements call out Warwick hollow rims. It has wooden bars, but I don't know if they've been added or were an original option. The leaf spring saddle is in rough shape but complete. Pedals are both present but devoid of rubber. Also missing is the chain guard and chain.

I’ve done some searches, but I'd like to verify the year if possible. Any and all information is sincerely appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

-Lester

Lester - Great bicycle. I'm thinking it is 1894. An 1893 ad shows women's model with looped drop frame. 1894 references say they changed to straight tubes on women's. Also 1894 appears to be first year for the clincher pneumatic tire. Found reference that SN 6108 was stolen July 1893 so yours being 7112 could be an early 1894 model. I do not have 1893-95 catalogs to compare to. Design details match 1894 men's model posted below.

Lester - Great bicycle. I'm thinking it is 1894.
Thanks a million Jeff. I'm with you at 1894. I was initially reluctant to go with 1893 because the 1892 patent dates were so late in the year, but the serial number is what ultimately pushed me in that direction. But 1894 certainly feels correct - especially with the Bartlett Clincher Tire and associated rim. And not that I can truly tell, but the expo picture appears to show wood bars on the ladies' model with the straight tubes. The image from The Allentown Democrat looks like a perfect men's match for it with the same lamp bracket spring set-up (spring is missing on mine), same seat post, etc., and there's a fork bolt for either that foot brake or a front fender depending on how it was originally manufactured. Awesome info as always. My sincerest thanks for your time.

Very cool.
Great simple badge.
Could you post pictures of the seat frame? Especially the rear ( how the bottom frame attaches to the rear "C" frame.
