@New Mexico Brant have you weighed your Special yet? Does it really come in around 23#? I’d like to add it to the list we keep of lightweights’ weights.
I have not but can do this tomorrow. It is extremely light. The Robert Dean tires add much more weight than period originals would be. I will weigh those separately along with some original 1890’s Morgan & Wright tires for comparison.

Kind of seems counterintuitive that an arm that would bend (or stretch) would deliver greater torque forces, (but static mechanics were never my strength, let alone dynamics).
