Cruisin' on my 1897 Comet
1896 or 1897 Erie, manufactured by Queen City Cycle Co., Buffalo, N.Y.
rare bicycle, seen only 1 other
great original badge
nice original Garford model 152 seat, some of the stitches are coming apart at the rear, but still very presentable
nice rat trap pedals, cool reversible handlebars / stem combo
serial # 34922
22" frame,
great circular rear chain tensioning system
very nice Indianapolis Chain and Stamping Co. block chain, main link says I.C.& S. Co, No29
Bike had all the original parts, but needed a repaint.
Had the bike repainted original black color, no pinstripping was present, so none was added
original wheels were restored and respoked on the original hubs
I added reproduction Universal hard rubber tires and added reproduction cork grips because they were crumbling but kept the original Barnes ferrules
pictures tell the story, PM me if you have any questions.
USD$2150 shipped, carefully packed as always
$50 Paypal f&f deposit (to secure the buy) + check by mail or pink postal MO for the final payment
