19?? Monark (ID Help)

Hey all! Can anyone help with a year on this Monark? Looks like it had a number plate on the bottom bracket but is long gone now. I will be looking for any of the original missing parts like rack, light and fender ornament after I get this wonderful repaint off?, if anybody might have these. Any and all help is appreciated. Thx

Prolly mid-late 40's to mid 50's, but still a nice, heavy ride. I had one like it last summer.

The Monark Super Deluxe never came with a fender ornament. Your bike looks to be 1948 - 1950 because of the horn button mounted on the right side of the tank. Here is what the correct rack would look like. There are 2 different lights for the Monark Super Deluxe the pedestal light from 1946 - 1949 and the train light was used from 1950 onward.

I noticed the mount holes on my fender would have supported a light and ornament. Unless the train light goes all the way to the front?

It appears that your bike probably had the pedestal light and was drilled for a fender ornament later. Very similar to my 1938 Colson.

Rubber grommets within the upper springer hardware tells me this one is more than likely a 48 since that was the only year those were present within that body style.

I had a '51 Firestone Super Cruiser with a trainlight and drilled for the front rocket ahead of it. It also had the rear rack shown above.

I can’t believe I overlooked that!! This means it would have had the pedestal light and no fender ornament.

I don’t believe they used fender rockets pre 1950. Not 100% though.

Interesting. Thank you guys for the info. My first almost complete Monark so I’m looking for that rack and possibly pedestal light.
