1903 ND Duplex, Corbin Hub restoration

I have added .25mm stainless strips to some worn brake shoes, and wondering if the thicker strips that old in the shoes need to be replaced / more springy so the brakes can expand properly. I’m not even sure these are the appropriate stock items to hold the shoe in.

Well, so far its been a decent success - I have installed one of the two modified discs and i've gone from basically no braking ability to a decent slow down i'd be comfortable riding. With two modified discs I think it will be like new (or maybe even better).

Nothing like riding a 1903 hub and feeling safe doing so!

where did you obtain your brake shoe disc from ?

It’s just stainless steel, I still had to file this down some
