Almost ready for the frame tubes to be brazed together! All tubes were clamped to each other once more, and the flanges were worked again for as tight a fit as possible.

It was also time to re-check frame angles.

The factory used rivets to draw the assembly together tight before brazing. I used brass machine screws to accomplish this. The screw heads will be ground flush once brazed, and lead filler will be used to clean up the finished joint.

So good, I like the old-school, and likely appropriate approach to using lead filler as a final application. Will you use tinning butter just prior to applying the lead?

Definitely tinning butter! I’ll try to get some good photos of the process. Thanks!
