Hi All,

I see there was a WW1 Columbia 'Military Model' being sold in Gettysburg, PA, USA last week. Did anyone buy this, or have an idea of the final price? Or any other information on the origin?

This one has the serial number USA5158, (with the U inverted) which is a new one to me. The head badge is stamped USA.

For comparison, here is @Dave Stromberger 's USA serial number, so I'm confident that it is an original frame. (probably stamped by the same person!)

It hammered at $3,800 plus 15% buyers commission for a total of: $4,370. As this was a military auction it is easy to assume military collectors battled it out. That is a lot of money for one of these with so much wrong: saddle, pedals, wheel set, paint looks horrible, no rear rack, etc. It would take heaps more money to make it correct.
