1920s elgin mud flap

I saw thats theres 2 holes in my front fender. Does anyone have a picture of a 1920s elgin mudflap or possibly a scan of one. Im saw a couple indirect photos of them but id like to make one. I cant tell if there made out of leather or rubber

1917 Sears Catalog says for the Chief "Front guard fitted with rubber splasher of motorcycle type".

I would assume thats close however the 2 holes on this elgin are horizontal where those are vertical

Velo Orange makes or sells leather flaps with horizontal holes.

Im not necessarily looking to buy one but more so im making sure to find referance to make sure what im putting on this bike is closest thing to being correct from the day this was purchased. Because lots of different models brands and years had mud flap. Thank you guys for all the differnt references its all been very helpful so far.
