Gonna try this here as I’m not sure what to ask for it since it’s missing the crank arms. I found this bike several years ago and it’s definitely one of the cooler bikes I own, but I’m getting married and about a week so some extra funds for that could be helpful.
So I’m offering this DOND
-Camelback Hilo gearbox frame with its original paint and original plating. Plenty of nicks and scrapes and scratches but no dents or other damage. Paint is bright and beautiful, it had a layer of grease/dust over most of it when I found it which preserved the original finish quite well, I have it a full gentle detailing. Presents very well imo.
I have not rebuilt the gearbox but it shifts with no problems at all as is.
Serial #4D2458
NO CRANKARMS, JAM NUTS OR PEDALS
Original 28” wooden metal clad wheels retain much of the original paint and pinstiping and are straight and true (obv not perfect but as good as is to be hoped for) beautiful original plating on the New Departure hubs. Mismatched period correct single tube tires look pretty good but are not rideable.
The stem quill was broken near the bottom, I gave it a basic fix, looks fine but you may want to address it. Jeweled grips.
There is a break in the rear section of the front fender, it goes about halfway though one side.
The drop stand I don’t believe is original although it came with the bike from the original owner, it works mostly but rolls foreword off itself a little easier than I’d like.
Feel free to ask any questions, thanks for looking. I have references as a seller if needed. Experienced with packing.
