1937 Columbia question

My friend picked up what he thinks is a 1937. The inside diameter of the steerer tube is 22.2. is this correct or perhaps was reamed during its 81 years of life. Unfortunately, i removed the fork to freshen up the bearings but it does seem original to the bike

The serial number will tell you the year. Look underneath the bike where the crank is. 1937 will start with a "B". V/r Shawn
