Finished up this project today. I bought it as a project from
@MonkeyWrenching a few years ago.. one of the first prewar bikes I ever bought. Took it back down to the painted parts and started fresh rebuilding it with correct patina matching parts. The painted parts had a lot of touch up paint on them. It wouldn’t come off so I wet sanded it off with wd40 and 1000 grit paper. It removed most of it nicely and blended in what was remaining. I rewelded the tank tabs back on using a flux core welder turned all the way down. Straightened the fork in two different directions. Added the: correct morrow date triple step wheels, vintage Goodyear tires, seat post/shim, brace bars, grips, aluminum nuts, drop stand/clip, diamond chain and stem.. all came from random parts bikes I found over the last few years. Added patina matching truss rods that came from
@fat tire trader .. rollfast fat torpedo light from
@catfish ..upgraded T8 pedals from
@lgrinnings ..correct saddle came from a parts bike from
@genesmachines .. egg rack from
@dfa242 .. I believe the 1937s didn’t have a guard and the rear fender doesn’t have holes for a taillight. Going to service it so it rides like new and leave it where it can get nice and dusty so it looks like a mid grade survivor bike just pulled from a barn. Thanks for reading.
