Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Interesting MOSS 35202 serial number, probably a 1938 or 1939 model, Murray built for Sears & Roebuck.
Mens 26" wheeled ballooner, 19" seat mast.
Project includes these correct original type parts:
Frame, Elgin badge, fork, headset, upper truss plates, solid 7 seatpost, hard to find seatpost shims, blade edged crank, dashes chain ring, bottom bracket, guard and two out of three grease fittings.
Frame is straight with no crash damage. The drop stand stop tabs on the rear dropouts have mysteriously been trimmed, but a fix is available here if needed. Correct deep v crown fork is also in alignment. It will need to be rethreaded and resized, which I can also do for a small additional charge if needed. I suspect the frame paint may not be original although it looks ancient and I really haven't dug into it.
A visually exciting design with excellent riding characteristics, it's a very rarely seen model incorporating many streamlining elements among other interesting features!
