1938 serial ?

I picked up a lady Schwinn with a serial number of Z218419. My question would be did they use the letter Z any other year? I found the chart here and it comes out as 1938 and I do not see it anywhere else but that year. I will have pictures tomorrow.

The number of digits makes a difference. That's not a 38 number, too many numbers. Got pictures and where is the SN? Possibly not a Schwinn?

This bike is a Admiral made by Schwinn. The serial number is 6 digits. I do belive this bike has not been messed with everything looks original. If anyone has any ideas as to what I have it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kirk

This is a postwar bike - The Z was used in some 1950 models, but I am still looking for this particular number - it isn't a '38 though.

Found it 1950 ! 09/16 ------ G318061 ------- Z320777 - That is the only date that shows a through to number where this one fits. Oddly though, this looks like another portion of this list that may be incorrect looking at 9/6, 9/7 and 9/8

Looks like 1950 was a time when they had some labor issues? Or maybe the recordings were done after work at the corner Pub? Looking at the mess I'd have to say your bike is actually a 1950 model but it was stamped and never recorded due to a head banging hang over.
