Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe

Sweet old early lightweight 1939 prewar pedigree top shelf ladies touring bike. As found aside from the loss
of a rear brake set up and Yale Jr key I harvested. Beautiful color here but the paint
shows some areas of rough texturing. Lots of good parts on this bike including the
ultra rare "Schwinn Superior" box profile rims that also say "To fit Schwinn Zephyr tires" and the orig
Zephry tires are still on board. Killer early wire chassis Mesinger "Schwinn Superior" saddle
Cycle lock has a new key...chainguard plating is nice with the matching color panels. Fenders are period
replacements in fair shape, not the best but not Schwinn. Alloy "Dural" front hub and ND Model D rear.
The color is a metallic aqua blue green that must have looked amazing when new with the red
and green box pinstripes. There is a vintage Weider Cyclometer still on board that looks to be in good condition.
Bike belonged to an elderly neighbor of the guy I purchased it
from and when she moved she rolled it out with the stuff that was going to the dump. nice save!
and he wasn't a bike collector but recognized something unique over 30 years ago when he
grabbed it.
Bike has great potential and is a very rare example of a very early Schwinn top shelf lightweight one notch down
from Paramount.
