Here we have an all original, unmolested 1940, one-year-only BA107 with dual drums. It is Lincoln badged, with Lincoln script on downtube (faint), AS 40 stamped crank, and original Arnold Schwinn key.
Original tank with EA horn, original chrome feather guard, original and straight six hole rack with original reflector. Original razor stem w AS bolt and original springer with both AS bolts. Original Torrington 10s and Mesenger sliding rail saddle. All factory decals intact, plus a few 70 year-old kid‘s decals ! Drum brakes are complete, in good shape with very strong original chrome dropcenters and Goodyear G-3 whitewalls. Correct matching non-script levers, Schwinn script grips, correct Miller kickstand, undamaged fenderlight with original lense.
As found, with not a single drop of touchup paint (except a JB Weld repair of two small pin holes on lower right side of tank). Black and ivory paint is one of the easiest to touch up, if desired, but wanted to leave that decision to the new owner.
Included, but not shown: correct matching rear brake cable, correct rear fender braces, and correct replacement rear fender reflector (or keep the original; it is cracked).
I believe this to be a late 1940 model, as it has the rolled “safety edge” fender tips, and the small threaded barrel under the front fender to receive the front fenderlight screw (a very short-lived feature)
Hard to find original examples of these rare birds, that haven’t been picked over by collectors and passed around 5 or 10 times.
