1940's Schwinn DX

Well, I was able to buy the DX...and at a very fair price.....serial number is C 44803...
Your thoughts on the year?
Missing front light and Headbadge and chain , otherwise, other than the gray paint, it's in not to bad condition

Correct me if Im wrong but the 45 degree angle of that kickstand, coupled with the way the lower stays are fixed to the bottom bracket tells me its a 45.

The 45° angle stand is later. The 1945 pieces also had C serial numbers but that’s not a 1945.

serial would tell me its a 47 model.

It could be a 46 also, the serial numbers during this time we’re a mess. Schwinn used B & C serial numbers in 1952 1953 1957 and I’m seeing a repeat practice with all these first post war numbers.

Nice Bike! I would recommend Goof Off or paint stripper in very light use to get the old repaint off.
