Look Ma, No Hands!
I have a 40's Shelby bicycle. It has some very different fender struts. I am asking for some info about them. They are not curved with outside of the fender line. Rather they protrude one inch straight out from the fender. Then at a 90 degree angle they go to the hub. Thanks

Looks like later run 50s they used that style fenders braces that buldge out the fender! Post a pic of the full bike. I believe on those there should be serial number tag under the crank with the year!
 
Thanks for the help. I had no idea what the reasoning was behind this. It really looks like it would make a great whizzer project.
