I thought this was a keeper but another bike reared its ugly head! So she has to go!

1941 Schwinn Dx badged as “The World”. She is in great original shape! Nice Messinger sliding rail seat, Musselman rear hub, Schwinn scripted front rim, bolt on kickstand. Tires holding air. The bars and gooseneck have been swapped out for a nice razor AS neck and similar bars, see pics. The World graphics on the bottom tube are nice and visible. Local pickup in Waxhaw, NC is ok or I will ship in the USA for $125. PP as friend or add 3%.

A young man would have been riding his new bike the day the war started and he didn't ride it in the spring because he was off to war. Maybe it was used to get someone to work during gas rationing. The men and women who made it went to war? It was valued more than the space it took up for the next 80 years. The generation that it was made for is almost gone now. Riding it is a tribute to what America was? The world changed but The World bike did not.
