Finally riding a big boys bike
The ‘49 Higgins Colorflow’s don’t pop up too often and much less a Westfield built model. This was the debut of the “Deluxe” model known as the Colorflow. This does not have the springer as it was an option for this first year. Yes,…it is missing the batwing light which unfortunately is to be expected.
This bike has all original paint and is in really good condition considering it’s age. Has some surface rust in some areas and typical rubs and scratches. Stitching has come loose in one section of saddle. The Pinkerton’s Detective decal is worn but still there. Has the original Allstate Crusader tires. One tire has an area with some rubber loss on sidewall which appears to be where a mouse nibbled on it? I replaced the tubes and put in new rim strips. I had to replace one of the script pedal blocks as it was missing when I found the bike.
Horn works well. The bike rides good and is in overall very good condition.
I would be glad to answer any questions or take more pictures.

Awesome bike sir. If I wasn’t trying to find a Huffy I would buy this. Old hand down Sears bike were what I rode as a kid. Nothing this nice. I am in Connecticut, are you near Richmond? Do you think a light was mounted on the front? I am asking because of the holes two extra holes. Sorry, please do not be offended by my question, I am new here.

Nevermind about my question. I just studied the ad and now see. I am guessing this crazy looking light is long gone?
Yep I’m afraid so. The light was called a “batwing light” and seems that many were removed, lost or just didn’t survive over time. They make re-pop ones or if you find an original in good condition it will be a bit costly. I appreciate your interest.

I have a few bikes with them and I think they are butt ugly. They dont seem to flow with the lines of any bike they are on.
