1949 Super Deluxe Monarch

I know a guy who has a couple of bike for sale and wanted to know if the price he asking for is good? He is selling a 1949 Super Deluxe Monarch. The bike is complete but he said the bike was pretty rusted and painted the entire bike powder blue. The chrome is still in good condition including the springer fork. He is asking $500. Is that a Fair price? I would appreciate any suggestions.

pictures would help. But with what I have sold them for in the past. 400-600 for one that is complete but needs resto is fair. If it was rusty to the point of heavy pitting I would lean towards the 400, if it's just surface and no visible damage to the frame or fork closer to 500 is reasonable.

Welcome to the CABE. If the chrome is good & the bike is complete, ( Including the rare and expensive pedestal headlight), and as long as it is rust and not rot, $500.00 is pretty fair.
A picture will help us evaluate the bike.
Below are a few pictures of my unrestored, complete '49 Super Deluxe. I bought this about three years ago on CL for $450.00, and I got a very good deal at that price.
The guy also gave me a complete set of new decals.
