1950 Colson color Question

Started washing off the spray bomb paint job on the 1950 Colson Special and was wondering if they had a Metalic paint job back then.

Looks like original paint on the frame and tank. I believe these bikes were black with red highlights and white stripes on the fenders, the dart being red.
Interesting chain guard. These were primarily used on Colson Clippers. Is there chrome under the blue?

No Chrome. The Chain guard is Original to the bike. It was called a Colson Special..There is blue paint under the black on the whole bike.
