Cruisin' on my Bluebird
Disclaimer: This bike is restored, and has repop parts. If that’s not for you, please don’t rip me a new one or poo poo it. With that said....

Selling off the oldest bicycle in my collection. It’s a restored 1950 Schwinn Red Phantom. A friend and I brought this bad boy back to glory in the mid-90’s when Phantom was King. Keep in mind this restoration was done before the internet and eBay, at least for me. The evolution books were my pictorial. My only source for parts was Dan Venturi ( when he resided here in Santa Cruz) and the catalog from Memory Lane. I’ll break it down the best I can recall. Serial number is G190381. The chainguard, rack, fender stays, fork, front wheel setup, cranks, AS pedals, AS stem, Schwinn script seat post, rechromed original bottom portion of saddle, grips, AS seat post clamp, Bendix Red-band 2-speed, rear rim(if I recall has knurling but not stamped S-2), horn unit, and badge are period pieces. Also included is a rechromed chainring I never installed. Repop consists of: John Koehnke fender set, Memory Lane supplied the fender light guts, cover, lense, decals( an extra Schwinn one included because one failed), rear reflector and tail light unit. Dan came up with the all chrome tank, saddle top, bars, and headset. Which in hindsight must have been 95’ Anniversary parts.I honestly never heard of the 95’ repop bike till I joined The Cabe. Doh. The Typhoon Cords I added many years later off eBay. They were represented as original, but sadly weren’t. The pin striping was done by a local artist Tom Fieber. It’s a 20+ plus year old resto. I rode the heck out of it back in the day. It has some scratches and patina. The front wheel is missing one spoke. The rear I laced with what was available at my LBS. It’s missing one spoke also.
Sorry to be so long winded, but I like to be as forth coming as possible. Ask any questions if needed. I’m asking $1400 shipped. OBO PayPal f&f, PO money order, or cash on pickup for a better price. Thanks for looking!

Nice job! WAY nicer than most of the 'restored' bikes you see out there and priced super fair!
Those parts add up fast...and the labor! Good luck with the sale!

You couldn’t be farther from the truth. Early days lesson on “partin’ it together” cost ya a fortune. Seriously upside down on this one. Dan took me to the cleaners. Lol. I traveled 3 hours to get that chrome bottom portion of the saddle. I picked it up at the Simonian Farms swap way back when. Man that was a fun swap.

bone temade parts ate better than 90%percent of otiginals, aint hothin uglier than an og piece restored and still full of pits, haters gonna hate, the bigest bitchers are prolly the fewest who ever restored a bike, and the term repop is worn out,a guy like bones gives us a product that is better than when if was new,old steel is overated,a guy like bones puts time, money and alot of effort into providing bike ppl with superiour partsthere are bikes on here thanr were restored in mn that alot of work came from me so i kinda know what im talkin about, the next time i read someone bad mouthing someone using a tribute part[NOT repop] there is also a political work being overused today.bob u on here is prolly the most realistic person on here who descibes what is what,oh and by the way killer lookin phantom,i like all 5 colors but the reds are my favorite
