'Lil Knee Scuffer
I picked this 1951 Schwinn 20” frameset up at KC swap meet last fall along with a girls bike of same vintage. The serial number of the boys frame was stamped in Mid-December 1951.

The plan was to take all the goodies off the girls bike and build a cool boys bike. The girls bike was missing bars and a seat… so I brought the whole pile home and immediately threw a set of bars and a troxel seat from the parts stash on the girls bike and decided it was too cool to blow apart.

So, plan B… use more Parts in Garage along with some parts from here, friends and eBay. Here’s the before and after…

A few notes…I had the original chain guard but love the winged Stingray guards. Added a set of early Wide bars, Solo Polo and 64 strut, white grips with red script. The fat slick was found at the Haysville KS swap earlier this year. The blue font big headbadge was a lucky eBay find. Reflector was donated from the girls bike. A mix of early 60’s, 70’s and repro parts to build a fun bike with the early SR vibe that rides well!
