Original condition Schwinn Heavy Duty seat believe 1951 model year. Looks just like the 1958/59 Phantom seats but has factory heavy duty rivets. Pan is solid as can be. Could use a set of new rear springs but usable as is. No rips but a little shrinkage on sides. 100% complete ready to bolt on. Clamp in in good condition as well.
Schwinn stamped on top & S on sides. Overall decent seat for an original survivor bike.
Look & judge for yourself. Lots of Messenger seats out there but very few original "Schwinn" models!

Also used on Schwinn Cycle Trucks.
The real deal reasonably priced!

Those rivets look different, is that a 58/9 thing?
Well I don't know what to say, It's 100% not a recover and those rivets look to have been on for a very long time & I'd say original to this seat anyway. Maybe an early issue?

I have been asked about the different style rivets by a few. I honestly don't know the answer. They are most definitely original to this seat. This just might be an original "CYCLE TRUCK" seat seeing that the rivets appear to be heavy duty. Much beefer than the smaller Phantom seat rivets.
The thread is unlocked so if you have the answer please post it here. Neg comments keep to yourself please.
Thanks Tommy

That seat is the optional Schwinn seat that was available at least as far back as 1951. It was a factory installed seat on the Heavy Duty Americans and Wasps and I'm sure some other models. The part # was 7000 and came in brown or black. I personally have never seen an original Mesinger seat with the split rivets.
