nauseated

Finally riding a big boys bike
Sold by Spence Wolf in 1955. Small, 52cm or so. Been crashed, had fork replaced with a SC looking Japanese quality Tange fork, got repainted at that time with various wrong braze-ons added. All that "work" was done without noticing that the downtube was slightly bent, and the head angle steepened by at least 2 degrees. It was then ridden like this for years! Go figure . Missing badge. Has a Phil BB in it which is fine. Beautiful lugs. Could be a project, requiring some skill. Fool or buyer pays shipping via BF. BTW the frame either needs a down tube or possibly could be rolled out with blocks but you'd have to bend it back to correct geometry first, and that may change the outcome. Best is replace down tube, remove braze ons and make a B style fork using a Masi crown. The Tange fork is good BUT it has tighter brake clearance (and different rake) than the original B fork, so that also messes with the geometry. The downtube is Not wrinkled bad in the normal spot, instead it has a bow and wavers in the upper middle of the tube, so "maybe" it's worth trying to sort out without replacing it. If that fails, replace it, you'd probably want to loose the bottle cage holes anyway.

can you post a few better pics of the downtube damage? perhaps with a straight edge and showing the ripples?
