That's a great find in any case. It's amazing to find anything from 1958 surviving in that condition!

And to think I hesitated on purchasing...😬. I will have some work (besides my usual detailing) to do ion order to get it up and running properly. To bad I had sold off some parts last year when I making a bit of room and not sure if I was even going to continue buying more bikes. Had those parts for years and now I could have used them. Oh well.

And I just looked closer at the photos, since I haven't done anything to the bike but remove the tank. Fender is not on backwards... it's not in the correct position! Needs to be pulled back so the brake bolt can go through the tab on the fender. If you look through the top of the front rack, you can see it. I can't believe I didn't see this sooner 🙄. DUH!!

Makes me wonder why someone would put it on like that in the first place. Some people's thinking is a mystery.

Brake parts are missing/broken also, as is the end of the 3 speed cable. Fender had been removed, because even the rack wasn't installed back properly.
Plenty of parts to change out... which I had!... and sold off. Thankfully I have more 😎.

Good thing I'm trying to downsize 🥴... because it isn't working 😬.

I got a Text from @eagle123 the other day to tell me he had spotted this on ebay. I was tempted, but told him I was trying to stop and room was tight, so thank you anyway.

Then the next day it pops up on Facebook 🙄... so I figured it was a sign, lol. Contacted the person selling it, asked for their best price and I said "OK". I was going to visit my daughter that day anyway out on the Island, and the bike was only 12 from her. So, perfect!

Serial number places it at February 1958. Missing the rear carrier light, rear fender reflector and head light. Otherwise, all appears to be there and original but needing cable hooked back up to the 3 speed hub, brakes and assorted other little things... like putting the front fender back on correctly!

Anyway, my typical barrage of Before photos awaits your viewing pleasure! 😁

That backwards front fender is making me twitch!

Not the case here but I find people put the fender on backwards after they have bent the fork.

Actually, it's not backwards... which is what I had initially thought.

When they put the fender back on, they didn't put the bracket that's mounted onto the fender behind the fork. They put it in front of the fender a few inches. Check out the fender photo closer. 🙂

Front fender is now attached properly. 🙂

And I figured out an easy way to adjust the brake cable since I don't have a Third Hand tool. I used a Cable Tie, fed through from one lever to the next to get the brakes as close to the rim as needed which you can slowly adjust, and then fed the cable through to lock it in place. Easy! 😃

Detailing will come later...

Beautiful 1958 Jaguar HARPO!

One of the first things I do when I get a bike I plan on riding is replacing the brake pads after cleaning up the calipers. Those 67 year old pads are not only worthless, they will scratch the hell out of the chrome on your rims the first time you use them. Here's one of the best deals today, and worth the small investment.

Thank you!

I think I might have some extra pads, so I need to look for them, but I appreciate the deal on those! 🙂
