Yes- the aluminum, adjustable Shuresta is fine for a 1950s-60s era bike. They came in a couple varieties, some with flat/universal top plates and some with a wedge/contoured top plate specifically for the Raleigh Sports and Superbe. Either would be appropriate. You can use rubber cushion pads or even some pieces of old inner tube to protect the frame. The Shuresta stands love to flatten frame tubes, especially the ones with the flat plate and jaws on top and bottom.
