Finally riding a big boys bike
Very unique antique vintage 1960 Norseman Sportster S-66 American motor scooter project with no engine made by Rocco Industries Inc of Minnesota U.S.A.
In 40 years I have only seen others .
No doubt trying to compete with Cushman, Mustang, Simplex etc Scooters at this time was tough...
It is quite rugged 1-1/4” tubing with a axle to axle wheelbase of about 59”..
It is bigger than your basic 1960s 1970s vintage antique minibikes and will handle an adult no problem..
These were offered with or without engines as you can see in the photo of the attached ad...
Looks like there is plenty of room for a 6-8 hp Briggs, Lauson or Tecumseh if you like..
It has 2 foot pedals, one for the rear contracting band brake and the other for your throttle..
I’m sure a lot of folks would use a basic twist throttle these days..
I found a seat that looks period and should work fine..
It has a very cool ride off center stand as well..
Front fender is original and made out of fiberglass.. Kind of amazing it is still intact….
So if you collect unique antique American vintage motorcycles, scooters or mini bike and don’t want something everyone else has then this is a very worthy project…
