Look Ma, No Hands!
Having a lot of fun rehabbing/preserving this 1961 Schwinn American in flamboyant red. Has the two speed Bendix rear hub (3 red bands). Paint is pretty good as are the decals - with the exception of the patterned decal on the seat tube. I have swapped out the stem, handlebars and grips that came with it. I’m assuming they were original but they were lower end stuff that is similar to some stuff on my 1964 Schwinn Fleet. Rolled stem, cheap chrome on the handlebars, and non-descript black grips. I plan to keep the originals with the bike, but like the look of the current set up better.

Super nice looking American. That model was re-introduced in mid 1961 after a 2 1/2 year absence. They never had a rolled stem so you can pitch that one. The color is radiant red, flamboyant came out in 63. Looks pretty original as it sits now.
